offices and shopping malls, this timber
satisfies the modern trend for lighter timbers.
Also many hotels and pubs are using Ash
stained as Oak for tables and furniture.
Available 1 inch to 4 inch." |

Works
fairly well. Good for nailing, screwing
and polishing. Glues satisfactorily. |
COMMENTS:
"The most popular
of all our redwood Mahogany type timbers
and available in a full range of sizes.
A good number of our customers are now using
Sapele as an alternative to Brazilian Mahogany
- mainly because of its price advantage." |

by many to be the 'perfect timber'. It has
outstanding strength and durability, is
moderate in weight and easy to work. Extensive
range of sizes, from small sections for
furniture, through to long and wide material
for boat building. Can be kiln dried to

"Traditionally
one of the better Class 1 hardwoods. A durable
hardwood of uniform red colour. Reported
to machine better than other African redwoods
which makes up for the little extra it costs.
Many of our joinery customers have switched
to Utile from Brazilian Mahogany." |
